But while boss Simon Cowell is notorious for calling a halt to proceedings so he can go for a *** break, fans will be surprised to see his glamorous co-host Cheryl Cole enjoys a puff as much as he does.
The couple were spotted on a balcony during a break from the boot camp stage of the ITV show which hits the screens later this month.
But if nervous contestants hoping to get through to the live stages may be forgiven the odd smoke, Cheryl was thought to have given up the weed.
The Girls Aloud pin-up used to smoke a packet a day, but quit when husband Ashley Cole complained of the smell. Seems he needs to complain a bit harder.
The picture below isn't brilliant, because you cant see the ciggie, but you can see the lighter in her other hand.

While these pictures don’t actually show Cheryl Cole Smoking, her hand does seem to be in the correct position to be holding a cigarette, plus an alleged ‘insider’ that has confirmed Cheryl does have the odd crafty ***, we make no claim as to whether she does or does not smoke.
